‘[The Duties of Women] is a powerful indictment of Nazi Germany and an exploration of the roles and reductions women were expected to adhere too.  The novel also explores how women cope in brutal circumstances and how relationships can change dramatically when a woman's place in society changes overnight. This is such an important book and an incredibly good read.'

My debut novel, The Duties of Women, will be published in late 2020

The Duties of Women explores the lives, and differing experiences, of six German women in Nazi Germany.

Spanning the years 1933-1945, the novel takes place in Berlin, occupied Poland, Ravensbrück, Auschwitz, and Mauthausen, and incorporates themes of motherhood, identity, trauma, war, fascism, and survival.
